I also take Sofab along with Ribavirin and until this moment I have been on this combination for 4 days and because I have been on it for so little time I cannot say anything else than the fact that it has side effects. I cannot talk so far about the effectiveness of this drug which I hope very much that would be a good one. about the side effects… I really hope that with time it is going to change because so far I have them and I hope that they would disappear once my body would get used to the pills or at least they would subside. I just decided to read other’s people reviews about the combination of sofosbuvir and ribavirin, but now since I am here I wanted to let other people know how this drug works. I wanted to know whether other people are having these side effects I have or not. so if there are some, please let me know. until this moment the following side effects appeared: shortness of breath, acid reflux and diarrhea and the one that it is most annoying and very hard to deal with is incredibly bad itchiness around my mouth and my lips. I know that I have all of them because of the drug because they have all started to appear as soon as I have started to take the drug. I can mention that there would be no problems for me to deal with the side effects if there would not be this terrible itchiness because the other side effects are not that bad and I can bear with them. this itchiness around my mouth is annoying a lot. it interferes with my eating habits, it is preventing me to eat and drink normally and I hate it. it does not seem to be a big deal, I know, it does not sound to be so, but trust me it really is very annoying. Either way, I am not going to stop from taking the combination because I really have big hopes that it is going to help me with the hepatitis c and would wipe it out. from everything that I could read online so far, it really seems that most of the people who have tried this combination has found it helpful so that’s why I hope a lot that I would find it helpful as well. besides, I have also discussed with my doctor about this and he has told me that the success rate of curing my hepatitis with this combination is pretty high. This is why I remain positive and optimistic regarding my treatment. by the way, the effectiveness mark I put 5 only because I could not skip it and not to put anything. Plus I hope a lot that I can put the max mark for it. I can tell you all – I have hep C for approximately 40 years now or so and maybe I won’t have it no more. anyway, in the end I just hope that it all would be well worth it when my doctor would finally tell me that I don’t have hep C anymore.

I think that there’s something wrong with this drug. I mean, it is not wrong but it is weird. Yeah… that’s a kind of weird drug. it also seem to be a good drug, however it is having side effects and I call it weird because it is having some strange and weird side effects. or it is how the drug really works. Not sure. I was expecting to have side effects. it was obvious for me that the drug would have side effects and I have been thinking that I am going to get some physical side effects (like for example diarrhea, headaches, or sweating, or whatever else) which seems pretty logical to me due to the fact that I try to cure a physical condition – I’ve never had any mental conditions (or maybe at least diagnosed). The problem and the reason why I call it a weird drug it is because my side effects have been (and they still are all mental. Yeah, I say that they are still are because I am still having these mental side effects and this is because (I hope so) I still take the drug. I really hope that when I would finish my course and I would stop taking it – the side effects would go away. I can tell you here that I have one week more to take it. there’s only one week left of my treatment and I’m very happy that it would soon be over. My treatment has been half an year (I was taking it for 6 months) and it is finally now coming to the end and hopefully the side effects are coming to the end too. the side effects have not been THAT bad but as I said, they have been strange since they all have been mental for me which I still find it strange. Seriously, throughout my entire treatment of 6 months I’ve got no physical side effects at all like for example dizziness, I’ve got no fatigue, no pains, no aches nothing at all. everything I was having was only anxiety (I still have this anxiety – hope it would go away), I’ve also had depression at a very high level, but I have seriously tried to deal with it and it seems that I did had a bit of success since now it does not seem to be such a bad depression as it used to be in the past, but it is still here… I have relatively many (not always – but pretty often) nights of insomnia, I also have mood swings (something new for me – never had mood swings in the past), have occasional rage as well as I am getting much more easily irritable since on the drug. besides, all of these side effects are going away and coming back completely random. there seem to be nothing that triggers any of them. they are all completely random disappearing and appearing back. Talking as a general and overall thing I can tell you the following: I was fine. these side effects were annoying, but they cannot compare to the fact that I am free of the virus for a long time now. my virus load was not detected at only the 4th week of my treatment and since then (5 more months) it has remained undetectable! Doctor told me that I need to continue all the treatment until the end (as I said – 5 more months) to make sure that the virus won’t return. So I hope that those 5 more months were not “for nothing” and my virus load would remain 0 months and years after I would stop taking the drug. I can mention here that it is my first treatment and I hope very and very much that it would be my last one too. I decided that it is an important point to mention here because I’ve read other people’s reviews and they were saying that they had success clearing the virus from their second, third or sometimes even fourth treatment. either way, so far this drug is good to me because it has cleared the virus and the side effects are not that scary, however in order to be all 100% sure that the virus is not going to return (which is the most important) we have to wait a few more months after I finish the course. But I’m happy that in this moment the Hep C genotype 3 A is gone and this is what counts. So Sofab is a good drug that works well, but watch out the mental side effects.
